WaterWorld
An ancient-Greek-themed park where the slides have names like Fall of Icarus and the lazy river winds past temple columns — gloriously silly and consistently well run.

Why go
An ancient-Greek-themed water park on the edge of Ayia Napa, laid out with temple columns and statues, and slides given names from mythology. The site is large, with a wave pool, a lazy river, a children's area and a set of steep drops for teenagers. The theming is knowingly silly, and the operation is well run, with shaded seating and lifeguards throughout.
Most families visit for a day from a beach base along the Famagusta coast, staying in quieter Protaras or Pernera and driving over. Cyprus's long season means the park runs from spring into early November, which makes it genuinely useful for October half term when the sea is still warm. Midsummer is hot enough that arriving at opening matters.

From our guides
It sits on the edge of Ayia Napa, so families can stay in quieter Protaras and drive over for the day. Cyprus's long season is the real advantage: the park runs from April into early November, making it ideal for shoulder-season half-term trips when the sea is warmest.

Things to do
-
Fall of Icarus
A near-vertical free-fall drop from the top of the tower, the park's headline slide and the one everybody talks about afterwards.
-
The wave pool
A large shallow-entry pool running regular wave cycles, with shaded loungers around the edge and the easiest place to base yourselves for the day.
-
Lazy river
A slow ring-float loop winding past the columns and planting, and the part of the park small children will happily do on repeat.
-
Children's play area
A self-contained structure with small slides, tipping buckets and shallow water, easy to supervise and set apart from the tower rides.
-
Raft rides
Multi-person rings sent down wide open flumes, which suits mixed-age families who would rather ride together than queue separately.
-
Nissi and Konnos beaches
Two of the coast's best-known bays are a short drive away, with white sand and calm water, for the days you skip the park entirely.

Best base overall
Ayia Napa
The park sits on the edge of town, so you can walk or take a short bus, and Nissi Beach is nearby. The strip is loud at night, which suits some families badly.

- Pack this
- High-factor sunscreen, water shoes for the hot paths and a rash vest for children. The Cyprus sun is stronger than it feels in a sea breeze.
