The original. Goa's trance heritage lives on in the cliffside bars and beach shacks of Anjuna and Vagator, where sunset sessions roll into open-air nights under strings of lights, and Wednesday's flea market keeps the old freak-scene DNA alive. It's looser, cheaper and warmer-hearted than any European equivalent. Season runs November to March; sunset at Curlies remains a pilgrimage.
